    Interview: 10 questions

    1.When did you start making music, what is/was your motivation to do it?

    I started to make music 1991, started to experience sounds and mix things. At that time I organized more gigs than played myself.
    .

    2. Tell me something about your living environment and the musical education.

    I live in Helsinki, Finland. I have done a lot different musical projects from noise to sound installations to more experimental guitar noise.
    I studied music at very early age. After school I really started to make music. Music and sound has been always present in my home and my childhood. I have done some co/operations with classical music academy in Helsinki.

    3.Is making music your profession? What is the context in which you practice music nowadays?

    I Do experimental sound installations and some curator works as well. Im also running small independent gallery and art association in Helsinki, I could say that being artist is my profession, including sound art and new media and installation works.
    .

    4. How do you compose or create music or sound? Have you certain
    principles, use certain styles etc?

    Some of my music is improvised with live band, some stuff are just experimenting sounds and visual things. Mostly all sound is analogic.
    .

    5. Tell me something about the instruments, technical equipment or tools you use?

    I use different guitars, mostly Fender Telecaster, laptop, a lot of analogic guitar effects, old guitar amps for making feed back. Drums, bass. Different sound programs.
    .

    6. What are the chances of New Media for the music production in
    general and you personally?

    I hope that commercial record companies will slowly die and different world order rise soon……
    .

    7. How about producing and financing your musical productions?

    Producing records at own money, trying to be independent as much as possible.
    .

    8.Do you work individually as a musician/ soundartist or in a group or collaborative?
    If you have experience in both, what is the difference, what do you
    prefer?

    I have done solo things and with band. Basically with more people you get more.
    .

    9. Is there any group, composer, style or movement which has a
    lasting influence on making music?

    that’s a bit difficult to say, guitar noise from sonic youth to Pan Sonic.
    .

    10. What are your future plans or dreams as a soundartist or
    musician?

    Hopefully there will be more gigs, more records.
    .
