Interview: 10 questions

1. When did you start making music, what is/was your motivation to do it?
To be very frank – I don’t know how to make music. But I can appreciate, edit, modify, and apply music in different audio-visual projects. I am professionally onto that already.

2. Tell me something about your living environment and the musical education.
Well, that’s a very interesting question – people generally quest about my working space/environment, but rarely ask about the living one. I live in a flat (>one of the sixty) in a apartment and that is surrounded by a slice of greenery. A highway runs a kilometre distance from our house. Ambience is peaceful enough that we can hear songs being played at nominal level from a neighbour in the same apartment with good fidelity. We and our neighbours don’t quarrel generally. We can coolly do our works in my house undistractedly.

3. Is making music your profession? What is the context in which you practice music nowadays?
Making music is neither my profession nor do I practice it by any way. Professionally I am a recording engineer; primarily I do recording and engineering of the recorded music.

4. How do you compose or create music or sound? Have you certain principles, use certain styles etc?
I try to make a sequence of sound in my soundtracks and then try to dynamize it by portraying different shades of loudness, pitch and timbre. The soundtrack can have a underlying narrative – a slice of one’s life sculpted with associative elements of sound.

5. Tell me something about the instruments, technical equipment or tools you use?
I worked in an integrated solution, a DAW – FAIRLIGHT –DREAM STATION, PRO-TOOLS and WAVELAB.

6. What are the chances of New Media for the music production in general
and you personally?

Many new thinkers, professionals, sound-craftsman will take this as a wonderful platform for the exchange of sound-ideas and their creations.

7. How about producing and financing your musical productions?
I will be glad if somebody comes forward to finance this hectic process of making sound-stories.

8. Do you work individually as a musician/sound artist or in a group or collaborative?
Right now, I am individually working, but I don’t mind in making the works in collaboration

If you have experience in both, what is the difference, what do you prefer?
I have a small experience in working in a group. The productivity depends on the inter-relationship of the group members.

9. Is there any group, composer, style or movement which has a lasting influence on making music?
Johann Sebastian Bach’s few compositions touched me a lot. I like the choral preludes the most. Then comes the ORGAN WORKS.

10. What are your future plans or dreams as a soundartist or musician?
I would like to do certain sound installations.
